FROM LAST WEEK OFF-STAGE (SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT) Treaty between the ambassador in the Czech and the Slovak Republic Czech ambassador in the Slovak Republic, Filip Sedivy still has not found a proper building for his office and even his counterpart Ivan Mjarta is not better off. Therefore both the ambassadors have to travel by car from their own countries to fulfill their duties A defect on the 205th kilometre of D1 highway made the driver of Filip Sedivy stop. He found out that the cause was a hole in his tyre which he could not remove. Luckily there was the Slovakia ambassador going in the opposite direction on the road, and he offered him his reserve. This act of friendliness led both the ambassadors to sign an "asphalt treaty of friendship and cooperation." Iron cross for Zieleniec Czech minister of foreign affaires, Josef Zieleniec along with minister of defence, Antonin Baudys made a non-official visit to the leader of Bosnia Serbs, Radovan Karadzic. During their meeting that pulled Karadzic friendly by the ears and scolded him saying: "You should be ashamed, Radovan." Immediately Radovan started being ashamed and bade a liquidation of Serbian headquarters, and gave himself in to the hands of Muslim volunteers. Josef Zieleniec and Antonin Baudys were nominated for Nobel price for peace and a war cross of the 8th degree. According to the latest news the UNPROFOR commander in chief, general Philip Morillon is still hopelessly trying to get in contact with Karadzic. Van Basten to the Castle In the frame of the small privatization an enterpreuner of Czech-American origin bought the complex of Prague Castle. Mr. Jeremy "Armstrong" Coudelka intends to pull down three quarters of the build-up space (St. Vitus cathedrale, prezidental office) and to build a football stadium for 20.000 spectacles on the territory. Remaining buildings will be reconstructed to first-category hotels with numerous stars. Premier Klaus who had persuaded Vaclav Havel that the economic reform was really important, is now negotiating with the representatives of Prague council about gaining a part of the town for a construction of a new castle. Voices from off-stage keep saying something about Dejvice from where it would be only two stops by underground to the Governmental Office. According to non-official information, Karel IV has turned in his grave, and only the immobile part of his chest remained in the original position. Fountain earns money Thousands of foreign tourist pass every summer the Prague Castle. A rumour goes round that if they drop a coin in the St. George fountain at the second courtyard, they will come to Prague. Ivan Kocarnik from his post of the minister of finance made a proposal to Vaclav Klaus about keeping the fountain out of non-desired foreing currency drawing from its bottom. When the tourist season is over, the coins will be drawn at the assistance of the governor of the Czech National Bank, Josef Tosovsky, and will serve for increasing the foreign currency reserves of his bank. A key got lost Scientists' chamber of Czech Academy of Sciences, institute for precious metals, wanted to put the coronation jewels which are a part of the national treasure, under a new expertise. It was a great surprise when instead of seven keys necessary for opening the cascet there were only six of them. Prague Mayor, Milan Kondr forgot his key in the shower of the council from where an unknown specialist borrowed the key. A group of workers called in to violently open the cascet said that the security device is more worth than the crown, sceptre and apple. Therefore Vaclav Havel from the authority of his presidency decided that the safe will be closed untill they find the key or the value of the security device will drop at least to a half. Archduke Karel again activated Czech minister of foreign affaires, Josef Zieleniec does not trust the Czech crown and therefore he invested most of his savings. He bough an old steam engine Archduke Karel with a saloon wagon of Franz Joseph I from the depository of the National Museum. He decided to use the new train set for his trips abroad. But there are some problems. Most of European countries require that a catalyzer should be installed in the steam engine which would diminish the content of sulphur coming from the engine by 72 per cent. Ostrava's miners committed themselves to mine overtime hours to get coal for the engine and the supply will be sent to Prague in a gift packet. Prisoners not satisfied with food "The food does not reflect the all-European standart," says an official declaration of prisoners from Bory in Prague. Prisoners wanted to prove the verity of their words in a special action. Thirty three old lags swallowed state cutlery. All of them had to undergo an operation and stolen cultely was given back. After a convalescence they will be charged for stealing state property. Their sentence might be prolonged even by another 10 years. SPORT Disaster in Vltava Vaclav Chalupa, Olympic medal owner from Barcelony, was testing on March 30 his new boat he had got from Hungarian specialists. Passing under the Charles Bridge he did not notice a steamboat going in the opposite direction and crushed into it. Our representative is a good rower and therefore his boat did not come to any harm.
